BRIEF HISTORY OF DIRECTORATE OF LINKAGES & PARTNERSHIP

The Directorate of Linkage & Partnership, following approval by the Governing Council, was created on 1st October, 2005.

The relevance of the Directorate cannot be over-emphasized due to the increasing globalization and the need for UNAAB to explore full opportunities that abound globally by developing strong and mutually rewarding linkages and partnerships with national and international institutions, agencies, industries, stakeholders with a view to enhancing capacity building, curricular development, research and development as well as fund mobilization.

Such linkages and Partnership are persuasively needed to increase accessibility to fellowships, grants and scholarships, to internationalize the University and its programmes, to mobilize the private sector, the alumni and other stakeholders to contribute to the development of the University.

FUNCTIONS

 

The Directorate of Linkages & Partnership was established to undertake the following functions:

1. Identify potential bodies for linkage and Partnership activities

  • Initiate memorandum of understanding
  • Implement memorandum of understanding

 

2. Monitor and follow-up linkages and partnership

  • Maintain communication with partner institutions and follow-up action plans for activities and programmes
  • Coordinate meetings with partner institutions
  • Provide and update materials and information on the University to partner institutions
  • Monitor and evaluate on- going linkage/partnership programmes
  • Publicize linkage programmes and outcomes

 

3. Provide such services as;

  • Reception of national and international guests
  • Travel documentation and liaison services
  • Orientation tour for guests

 

UNIVERSITY LINKAGES COMMITTEE

A University Linkages and Partnership Committee was formed to guide the implementation of the functions of the Directorate.

The Terms of Reference for the Committee include:

  • Evaluating the extent and nature of linkages by UNAAB
