The University Management has approved a new hostel allocation policy for the 2011/2012 academic session, with effect from September 2011.
In a chat with UNAAB Bulletin, the Chairperson of the Student Welfare and Hostel Management Committee (SWEHOMAC), Professor Morenike Atinuke Dipeolu, said the policy was arrived at, as a way of ensuring an effective utilisation of the limited bed spaces, available for students of the University.
Consequently, hostel accommodation will only be considered for fresh students, as well as for those in the 200 Level and Final Year.
Professor Dipeolu added that other categories of students that will be accorded preference include foreign, physically-challenged and outstanding sportsmen and women.
The Chairperson said consideration for physically-challenged students and outstanding sportsmen and women will be dependent on the recommendations of the Director, Health Services and Director of Sports, respectively.
