ABOUT RESDEC

The Research and Development Centre (RESDEC) was established by the Governing Council of the University of Agriculture Abeokuta (UNAAB) in April 1990 to address the research component of the tripodal mandate of the University. Research is pivotal to teaching and extension in the University (without research there can be no meaningful teaching and extension services).
RESDEC is supervised by a Research Policy Board (RPB) and the Research Development Management Committee (RESDEMAC). The centre is headed by a Director assisted by core staff of Research Fellows, Farm Officers and other support staff. Its activities are carried out through the following Units: Administration and Finance, Research and Farm Services, Project Grants and Evaluation and Capacity Building. The Center also hosts the Intellectual and Property Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) and Geographic Information Systems/Space research unit (GIS).

The Vision of RESDEC is to make the University of Agriculture Abeokuta one of the top 10 Universities in Africa and among the top 100 University worldwide with regards to quality of research output and impact on national development.

The Mission of RESDEC is to promote synergies in research for intellectual and national development as well as the better livelihoods.

Our theme for the 2007-2010 plan periods is 'Research for development: The Spirit of enterprise'
